DETERMINATION OF READINESS FOR A COURSE

These questions are designed for people who have not taken the Excel – Level 2 course and think they should start at the Excel – Level 3 course (having either been self-taught or using the program, or earlier version, for some time).

CTC Computer Training is dedicated to the highest possible quality of computer instruction. The recommended score at the bottom of the quiz has been carefully calculated to ensure that people attending a higher level course are as prepared as the rest of the people in attendance.

We therefore ask that if your score does not meet the recommended prerequisite score at the bottom of the quiz that you not sign up for the higher level course. Attending a higher course level when you lack the prerequisite skills takes away from the quality of instruction for the rest of the class. Not everyone needs to have the same skill level – just a certain minimum level of preparedness.

I know how to perform a sort based on non-alphabetic or numeric ordering (ie, military rank).

 

 

I know how to password protect a confidential spreadsheet so that no one can see it.

 

 

I know how to password protect a spreadsheet so that people can see it but they cannot change anything in it.

 

 

I know how to make and edit graphs.

 

 

If I had a long spreadsheets (columns) I could pull out all the records that match a given criteria (in about 10 seconds).

 

 

I know how to take a large spreadsheet of data and get sub-totals (by groups) in under a minute.

 

 

I know how to use the =RIGHT, =LEFT, =SUBSTITUTE and =CONCATENATE functions.

 

 

I know how set rules so that only valid data is entered into a spreadsheet range.

 

 

I am familiar with various ways of importing data and cleaning it up (if needed) quickly and efficiently.
